To prevent food from sticking, it is important to preheat the griddle before adding oil, and wait until the oil is hot before starting to cook. Preheating the griddle from "Medium Low" to "Medium" will yield the best results. Preheating at high temperatures can burn cooking oil onto the surface, making it difficult to remove.

To prevent the griddle from warping, avoid using large quantities of frozen food on a hot griddle, as extreme temperature changes can cause warping. Also, avoid preheating the griddle too much, especially when cooking frozen foods, and use the burner to heat up slowly, not rapidly, to prevent thermal shock and cracking.
